On Tuesday this week I got a new arch-wire on the top, the last one (which was my first) had come out of the last bracket on the right, so I got a new, thicker wire rather than waiting for my January appointment and too, the dental assistant did not trim it as short as the last was to help prevent it from slipping out (or being thrust out by my tongue) Anyway now I have a very sore mouth in my right cheek as the damn wire keeps irritating it. I have been applying orthodontic wax, but, it does not stay in place - always, so in the end my mucus membranes (aka inner cheek!) is irritated! I have no creativity today, only the feeling or oral pain. So this nasty photo of my mouth shall have to suffice for my 365 day self-portrait. (ugh my teeth look nasty, that yellow lumpy looking surface on the molars is a buildup of synthetic material that the orthodontist put on them to help my bite allign during this early phase of braces when the braces were put on my molars would no longer touch without me clamping down on my lower brackets so this helps them meet so I can kinda chew foods until things re-shape in there)! At least I am not alone?? My eldest got his braces on this Tuesday, and he too is sore so we can at least relate to eachother on dental matters for now, yee ha.
