Arne Jacobsen - Arne Jacobsen Cylinda-line Brass Coasters
Arne Jacobsen - Arne Jacobsen Cylinda-line Brass Coasters offered by Joanna Frank Design Shop Ltd. on InCollect
The most chic coasters I have ever seen. What else is there to say? Arne Jacobsen for Stelton 1967. Original box. A variety of golden tones. Simply perfect, and the brass version is so very rare indeed. I have a brass wine coaster as well, with the original cork insert - accessories for those who know good design (or those who just like to drink and not mar the furniture). Original box.

The story of Cylinda-line started on a spring evening in 1964, at a family dinner at Arne Jacobsen's. Peter Holmblad, stepson & owner of Stelton, had a deep desire for Arne Jacobsen to design a complete series for Stelton. The series was to consist of everything for the home bar, from cocktail shakers to ice buckets and not least ashtrays, which were an essential part of the home bar. Peter quickly found out that there were major challenges in getting Cylinda-line from sketch to final product. An entirely new production method had to be invented and after three years of intensive development, the Cylinda-line was launched in 1967.
